NovelTeens' Ink.'s 2009 Nsoroma "Shining Star" Award
0 comments Posted by NovelTeens Ink at 11:01 AMFor those who weren't in attendance on Saturday at our Annual End of Program Banquet, every year NovelTeens has a banquet to celebrate the completion of the program and the hard work of all of our students. Every year, one student wins the Nsoroma "Shining Star" Award. (The video explains it all). Congrats to this years recipient, Kevin Davis, a member of the photography team.
Yes. They can. But will they is the question. There has been speculation for years about the abuse of welfare with it's recipients in the District of Columbia. Mayor Fentry and his administration are looking to save millions by cutting welfare in half with their new proposed policy. The policy implies that if you are employable and are are not working, your welfare will be cut in half. With the economic standing being 11 percent of the city unemployed, advocates believe that this is the worst time to enforce cuts. With over 16,000 familes in the District taking part in the TANF and programs of that nature, many hope that this vote will take longer than suggested to be passed.
